This is Sparta.

new site new look new layout k?

LOVE IT.

I cannot turn to see those eyes, as apologies may rise.
I must be strong, stay an unbeliever.
And love the sound of you walking away.

~Walk Away

So I'm sorry if I ever resisted
I never had a doubt that you ever existed
I only have a problem when people insist on
Taking their hate and placing it on your name

spoilers

What they left out:
-"I need to see where Draco Malfoy is coming inside of you"
-"There's no need to call me 'sir', professor."
-Tonks being a SUPER SERIOUS Hogwarts guard
-DUMBLEDORE'S FUNERAL. WHAT.
-U-No-Poo
-Merope's story (wtf? how is this NOT important?)
-The fact that Harry needs a password to get in to Dumbledore's office?
-The scene with Harry and Dumbledore in a broom shed
-RUFUS. SCRIMGEOUR. (also, HOW?)
-The scene at the muggle's Prime Minister's office
-"Dumbledore's man, through and through."
-"I like REALLY GOOD Quidditch players." and Ron's side of the dramarz
-"They called it my 'furry little problem.' Most people were under the impression that I owned a badly behaved rabbit."
-Apparition lessons!
-"Excuse me, are you the imprint of a departed soul?" and Snape's entirely new teaching role
-Ginny yelling at Ron about not kissing anyone.
-The chants from both Slytherins and Gryffindors about Ron's keeping abilities
-Fleur Delacour drama and the wedding planning
-The descriptions and stories behind each Horcrux (again, shouldn't this matter?)
-the trouble between Tonks and Lupin~
-Lupin in general. woo one line
-the DRAMATICALLY GETTING OVER SIRIUS' DEATH

That being said, the movie WAS two and a half hours long.

I really loved it the first time I saw it, but then I went to see it again, and i am really nostalgic over the stuff that's missing.

I really hate Ginny.

What I loved:
-the Weasley twins' shop! Amazing.
-Luna. I don't think they missed a single quote, at least someone got their role
-Hermione's hair (i hated that perfectly curled look i mean seriously no one has that time every morning wtf)
-Slughorn
-in the scenes they did keep, it was pretty close to the book
-Ron's obsession with Romilda Vane. beautiful.
-Helena Bonham Carter, not that that's a Harry Potter thing
-Tonks' hair. i actually did like it a lot
-the bridge scene
-katie bell's scene. holy shit horror movie time!
-ER-MY-NEE... lol. sucks to be lavender
-general Dumbledore. Way to step up your game, michael gambon.

i fucking love kansas.

I'm tired of everyone hating on Kathleen Sebelius.

Kathy is a fucking badass. The fact that Obama recognizes that is a mark of his character, not a detraction from it.

And all the whining "You're taking somebody BLUE out of a RED state?!?" Oh my god, seriously. You sound just as bad as a republicans who feared Obama for his ~socialism~. I don't care who you are, but dividing people into categories isn't attractive for anyone to do.

Besides, it's about damn time democrats in Kansas got recognized.

Not only that, but I really do believe Washington could use the bipartisanship Kathy brings to the table.

And as for my red state? I have faith in it. Keep in mind, this is bleeding Kansas. This is the state that actually supported creationism, and got over it.

Not as bad as an alleged "blue state" that still has Proposition 8 in effect.

tina fey as sarah palin - pew pew!

this pretty much sums up every poli sci paper i will ever write.

When we are little, we are taught to share our "good news" and our "bad news." there is never just "news." When we grow up, and listen to news, we initially think there is a simple story to it, with good guys and bad guys. We're not prepared for complex issues that are more than just white or black, so it's no wonder people aren't used to being comfortable with gray areas. The media eats this up so easily, too. We are brainwashed to think there is one right way, and anyone who thinks differently is unpatriotic, part of "them" (whoever that is, but "they" sure are excluded from being good people), uninformed, or simply wrong.

This is seriously one of the biggest problems our society faces.
